Alcides Fonseca bliki: Alcides Fonseca: The Pirate Bay Wants to Encrypt the Entire Internet

If CSI-like needs to identify who downloaded something, that's not a security issue, it is a privacy issue. And you're messing up security with anonymity: IPETEE isn't anonymous, you know who uploaded and who downloaded it.

IPETEE is funny, but it is only talked about because it comes from Pirate Bay folks. What I don't understand is why are they beting on such a system instead of contributing for a really secure, anonymous and censorship-resistent alternative like GNUnet.

No matter what type of encryption scheme you use, the server will always know WHO, WHEN and WHAT is downloaded from it!

This is just a way to evade passive scanners...

Either way, regarding copyrighted content, the BAD CORPORATE GUYS have been shareing their own content to see who accesses it so...what good is encryption for (at least, for copyrighted content)?

Also, if the information is public, it would be very easy for an ISP to know what are you up to (even if the contents are encrypted). Or where they suggesting a revolutionary protocol that was supposed to replace TCP/IP? That is NOT going to happen... :oP

    Best,
