Uso o Windows 8, acabei por encontrar o ficheiro, alias 2 ficheiros com o mesmo nome. Um sob o directorio .android outro no directorio SmartPhoneDriver. Este último é que tem referências ao Vendor ID no qual estao 3 um dos quais tem a mesma referencia 0x2a47 será isto? Só que à mesma ele não liga o adb no Android Studio

Thank you for your reply! I was mistaken in thinking ruby would always be running. I might revert the changes and go back to Passenger, but without the one sinatra app that was requiring ruby.

In practical use, I can easily restart apps (touch tmp/restart.txt) and configure them with 1 line in the apache config file.

Hi Alcides, I'm the Phusion Passenger author.

Forking Passenger and removing Ruby support won't do you any good. If you do not deploy any Ruby apps on Passenger, then Passenger doesn't load Ruby at all. The installer and other command line tools are written in Ruby, so Ruby is required, but they do not run all the time like the core server. The core server is written in C++ and is optimized for low memory usage. The overhead of the core server (so the app not included) is only ~5 MB in total.

Why not use Passenger directly to serve your Django sites? Passenger already supports Python. Again, if you use Passenger to serve Python apps then -- apart from the occasional command line tool invocation -- Ruby isn't loaded into memory at all.

Also, why are you using Apache? If you're on a low-memory VPS you should use Nginx, which uses a bit memory.

Have you also tweaked Passenger's resource settings to limit its resource usage? The default settings are optimized for 1 GB RAM VPSes, but your VPS is even smaller and thus requires tweaking. We've run Passenger on a 512 MB RAM VPS for years, especially in the early days when we had almost no money, so it's definitely doable.
